What's the best approach to avoid damaging the pavers or the equipment?

I'm trying to figure out the safest way to unload pavers from a trailer. I've seen a few different methods online, but i wanted to get some advice from folks with real-world experience.

Any tips on using forklifts, skid steers, or other tools for this? Also, are there common mistakes beginners make that i should watch out for?

Hey @James R., I've found that rushing the unload is where most mistakes happen-slow movements and a spotter go a lnog way when handling pavers..

Yeah I’ve learned the hard way.. take it slow, use a spotter, and make sure your forks are level and fully under the load coz most damage happens when guys rush or try to adjust mid-air

Forklift is safest; skid steer works if you're careful. Keep the load low, forks fully under, and unload on solid ground.

The biggest thing is making sure the load stays level and supported evenly. A lot of damaged pavers seem to happen from rushing or lifting uneven pallets. Forklifts usually work best if the ground is solid and level. Skid steers can work too, but bouncing around on rough ground can crack or shift the pavers pretty easily.
