How true it is that Boom and Bucket have regional inspection?

I'm looking at a few mini excavators on Boom & Bucket and they make a big deal about their "regional inspections."

Does anyone here actually have experience with this?

Actually, it's 100% true. Boom & Bucket puts a huge emphasis on their regional inspections-it's kind of their whole "thing" to make buying heavy gear online feel less like a gamble.

Their regional inspections are real and useful for transparency, but they’re more like a professional condition report, not a full mechanical guarantee.

The 'Boomers' were acquired by Ritchie Bros a bit ago. From what I've gathered, their platform is still great in that they only list fully inspected OR operational units. But given the new ownership, the inspections now all roll through the RB Global / IronPlanet platform. You'll see B&B link out to Ironplanet inspections on certain listings. Still good stuff in terms of disclosures and ratings and you get an assurance it'll be accurate with the purchase.

Hey all,

Yep, the regional inspections are real. They’re done by local, qualified inspectors and are meant to give a detailed, standardized condition report (photos, wear, functionality checks, etc.).

That said, like @Theoeni1 mentioned, it’s not a full teardown or warranty, it’s more about transparency so buyers know what they’re getting before committing.

Also worth noting that some listings may link to inspection reports through Ritchie Bros. / IronPlanet, depending on how the unit is processed, but the goal is still the same.. reduce surprises and build trust in online buying.

Hope that helps

yeah, it's mostly true. boom & bucket does use regional inspectors in many areas, which helps with accuracy. the reports are solid with photos and videso, but still limited, so i'd treat them as a strong baseline, not a guarantee.
