Has anyone split and resealed the main control valve on a Volvo EC460? Looking for advice or a parts manual.

Hey everyone, I’m working on a Volvo EC460 excavator that seems to have a hydraulic leak coming from between sections of the main control valve block. From what I can see, it looks like the fix might involve removing a lot of hydraulic lines, pulling the valve body out of the machine, and possibly splitting the sections to replace the O-rings and internal seals.

Before I dive into it, I wanted to ask if anyone here has actually done this kind of repair on an EC460 or a similar large Volvo excavator.
  • How intensive is the job in real conditions?
  • Any tips on labeling lines or avoiding contamination during removal
Also, if anyone has access to a parts breakdown, service manual, or torque specs for the main valve, that would help a lot. Just trying to plan this repair properly and avoid surprises.

You're usually right that most of the time it means disconnecting a lot of hydraulic lines, lifting the valve block out, and splitting the sections to reseal it.

In real conditions, it's not just the reseal that takes time - it's the prep and cleanup. Labeling every hose and port is huge. I've seen guys use paint markers, zip tags, or even take a ton of photos before touching anything. It saves a lot of headaches during reassembly.
