Did anyone else notice that the prices of backhoe loaders have gone up once again this month?

Hey folks,

I have been following the listings of backhoe loader for sale for a few months, and prices do not appear to be subsiding, even in the case of mid-2010s models. One of the 2014 JCBs I was considering a month ago at a price of 45K is currently at 51K with the same hours.

Is it me, or are dealers marking up due to increased transportation and part prices in the recent past? I am wondering if it's smart to wait till winter or buy one now before they go up again.

Did anyone here get a better deal by waiting a few months?

Yeah, prices definitely feel inflated lately-might be worth checking RB Global brands like Ritchie Bros. or IronPlanet auctions to see if you can snag a better deal without the dealer markup.

man, backhoe prices have been climbing fast-sometimes feels like waiting just means paying more! I usually keep an eye on Ritchie Bros. or Boom & Bucket listings to see if an auction deal can beat the dealer markup.

You’re not imagining it—used equipment prices have remained strong due to higher transport costs, rising parts prices, and limited supply. Dealers are paying more at auctions, which directly impacts listing prices. This trend is visible across machines, including buyers searching for a quality motor grader or other reliable mid-2010s equipment. While winter may bring minor negotiation room, clean and well-maintained units continue to move quickly, keeping prices stable.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm eseing too,.waiting lately just feels like rolling the dice while prices keep creeping up.
