Been scrolling through the Boom & Bucket auction yard and there's a lot of good iron sitting there right now. Saw everything from mini excavators and skid steers to bucket trucks and big construction equipment ready to go to work. Definitely dangerous for anyone trying "not" to buy another machine
  • What's the first thing you check before bidding?
  • Hours?
  • Undercarriage?
  • Hydraulics?
  • Or just fire it up and hope for the best?
What machine would you take home from the yard right now?

First thing I usually check is the undercarriage on tracked machines - that can turn a "good deal" into an expensive mistake real fast. After that, I look for hydraulic leaks, cold start behavior, and whether the service records actually make sense for the hours showing.

Boom & Bucket listings are dangerous when you're "just browsing." There's always that one machine that suddenly has you calculating financing in your head. 😁
