I just want to share how I use my small machinery. I use it by moving wood, changing my landscaping, and building roads in my woods. Just so much fun. It is just like having a buddy to help me around the house.
@George, I want to acquire this machine 👇By the way, I am currently talking to their staff, and I will have a site inspection next week with my mechanic.
I am planning to buy agricultural machinery for the expansion of our farmland. Any financial advisor here? Please share your advice on getting started.
This is an aerial view of our farmland, and I want to acquire more machinery to get the work done.
Been operating this CAT 140 Motor grader since last month, and I am still confused about this pedal. Is this left-nose pedal a clutch pedal or an inching pedal?
You have to look for the missing bolts or defective rollers, and once done, locate the adjuster and grease fitting. Please make sure they are intact. Don't over-tighten the track because it sometimes causes premature wear.
For experienced operators: What's the steepest slope you'd comfortably and efficiently push a full blade load up or down, and where does the "technical limit" of the machine actually hit the "safe and productive limit" of the operator?
When you're running a common 3-to-4-ton mini-ex, at what point do you decide to max out its reach (usually around 8 to 10 feet), or do you immediately call for a larger 5-ton or 8-ton machine, even if the depth is technically just within the mini's spec?
What's the real-world depth limit where...
You are right, man. always strap in, no exceptions. Those scrapers are just inherently tippy rigs, man. If you've got a heavy load and you crank the wheel while turning, it's looking for an excuse to roll right over. Keep the rubber side down.
If you had to choose a buying method-auction, private seller, or dealer-what's the one most important thing a newbie should always do before signing the papers?
What is the single biggest "red flag" that tells you a deal is too good to be true?
On newer machines, that’s your DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) screaming for a regen (regeneration). If you keep pushing, the machine will eventually go into a forced shutdown mode and refuse to work until it runs its little cleaning cycle. It's the most annoying time-waster ever.
This is for the operators and mechanics out there. :)
When you are buying a used machine, which is the bigger red flag: a mini excavator with relatively low hours (like 1,500) but no verifiable maintenance records, or one with super high hours (like 5,000) that comes with a full, documented...
I'm looking to rent a mini excavator for some general cleanup. I need to keep costs simple, so I'm trying to figure out the best way to price it.
Here's the deal: I think a 3-ton machine would be perfect for the job.
For general grading and clearing, is there any other attachment (like a...
Man, you hit the nail on the head. CTLs are the absolute Swiss Army knife on any job site. If you can only afford one machine, that's the one you get. CTL (Tracks): For dirt, mud, sand, and rough terrain. You need that flotation to keep from sinking or beating the crap out of the machine.
I’ve spent plenty of time on the seat of everything from a reach truck to a fat-tire outdoor lift. When you're trying to figure out if you can make a tight squeeze, you can't just measure the distance between the tires. You have to think about the counterweight swing. Always size up the space by...
