Why won’t my Komatsu show neutral after sitting all winter?

My Komatsu sat all winter and now it won't start because the indicator won't show neutral. It only shows F or R on the display. Since it doesn't recognize neutral, the machine won't crank. Thinking maybe a shifter switch, linkage, or electrical issue from sitting too long.

A weak battery, corroded connections, or a stuck neutral safety switch after long storage could be the cause. Hope it's a simple fix and you're back to work soon!

If the mower had been sitting idle through the entire winter, I would begin with the easier tasks first. Inspect the neutral safety switch for any signs of corrosion, water ingress, or animal activity. In some cases, the linkage itself could be binding or slightly out of alignment from just sitting idle. Try moving the shifter through the F/N/R positions several times and see if the neutral is picked up. With just "F" or "R" displayed, it seems like your machine may not be receiving a proper signal from the transmission for neutral position.
