Who can operate forklifts?

Who is legally allowed to operate forklifts? Do you need specific training or certification, or can anyone with experience hop on and start using one?

Hi,

You definitely need proper training and certification to operate a forklift legally. Most workplaces require operators to complete an OSHA-approved course, and some even need refresher training. Just having experience isn’t enough—safety rules are strict for a reason!
