Hi folks,

What’s the longest you’ve ever had a lift down for repairs?

Was it a quick parts delay or one of those nightmare breakdowns that just kept dragging on?

Curious how you handled the downtime, rental backup or just reshuffled the schedule?

@Miguel Flores man, we had one down so long it basically became part of the jobsite scenery, pretty sure the crew started using it as a lunch table 😅 Ended up renting a backup just to keep things moving, but that downtime still hurt.

Most lifts are down a few days to a couple of weeks, but bad breakdowns with parts delays can last over a month. Renting a backup is usually the fastest fix.

Longest for me was about 2-3 weeks Started as a simple parts delay, then turned into a bit of a domino effect once we opened things up. Ended up renting a unit to keep the job moving and reshuffled the schedule around the critical tasks.

The worst one I've seen was a few weeks ago because of a backordered control module. The actual repair wasn't even that bad; waiting on parts was the killer.

I've seen a lift sit for over a month waiting on a hard-to-find part. The actual repair only took a day, but the parts delay felt like forever and definitely made having a rental backup worth the extra cost. 😅
