What’s the best way to rebuild a John Deere 9630 transmission without relying on a remaining unit?

I am getting tired of replacing transmissions with reman units every time one fails. I'm looking into rebuilding them in-house and would like to hear from anyone who has experience with 9630 transmission rebuilds.

Are there reliable aftermarket parts suppliers for these transmissions? Is there anything that can be upgraded or improved during the rebuild to increase longevity? I'm also looking for good rebuild manuals, service information, or any tips that might make the process easier.

That's an interesting move. If you're seeing repeat failures, I'd be curious to know whether the root cause is actually inside the transmission or if something upstream like cooling, hydraulics, or operating conditions is shortening their lifespan.
