What’s the best way to maintain a tank trailer to prevent leaks or contamination?

I have experience hauling with tank trailers, and if not regularly serviced, leaks or contamination will cause a problem. I normally inspect gaskets, hoses, and rinse out after use. What works for you in keeping the tanks tight and clean? leaky tank tips?

Totally agree on regular checks! I usually keep an eye on the valves and seals and use a good cleaner for liquids.

Hey Mike, I do a similar thing with regular inspections of the hoses and gaskets, especially after hauling different materials. I’ve found that making sure the tank is fully rinsed out after each use helps prevent cross-contamination, especially if you’re hauling different types of liquids.

Another thing I do is keep the valves lubricated to avoid any wear or leaks. It’s also important to check the pressure relief valve to make sure it’s functioning properly to prevent over-pressurization. Any tips on dealing with stubborn residues inside the tank?

Good stuff here! I’ve found running a heated rinse or using a rotating spray ball system really helps with tough residues especially after hauling stickier products. Anyone here using steam cleaning regularly or sticking to chemical rinses?
