Hi guys! I'm thinking about getting one GMC square-body model and I wanna know what model stands out. Any tips on performance, reliability, or things to watch out for?
Hi @philipBrown! For me, the GMC Sierra 1500 from the square-body era is a standout, especially the 4x4 models, they’re tough, reliable, and great for restoration projects! Are you looking for a daily driver or more of a classic project truck?
Hi! Hard to go wrong with a square-body GMC! The Sierra 1500 4x4 is a beast, but if you’re into something heavier, the K2500 is a solid choice too. Are you planning to keep it stock or do some mods?
Good choices so far! The K2500 is a tank, but I’ve always had a soft spot for the Sierra Classic trims, great mix of style and durability. @philipBrown, are you after something that’s road-ready, or are you planning a full restoration?
Man, so many good picks here! I’ve always loved the look of the square-body Sierras, but the K2500 sounds like a beast too. How hard is it to find parts for these trucks nowadays? Thinking about getting one and maybe doing some light restoration!
Hard to go wrong with any square-body GMC! The Sierra 1500 4x4 is a classic, but if you want something with a little more muscle, the K2500 is a beast. They’re built like tanks and can handle just about anything. Plus, the Sierra Classic trims have that extra touch of style. Are you looking for something to cruise in as-is, or planning to go all-in on a restoration?
Heck, at this point I'd settle for my old 2005 GMC. They just don't seem to make em like that anymore. That thing had plenty of space and features. Now everything is screens, overly big, and not even as sturdy. Loved my radio buttons and knob AC/Heat controls.
