Here's a quick reference for some of the smallest motor graders we can buy, ideal for small jobs, driveways, property maintenance, or tight grading spaces:
What "Small" Means in Motor Graders?
These aren't full-size highway graders - they're lighter, more maneuverable, and way easier to trailer around.
They still do real grading tasks (leveling, ditch cutting, finish work), just not big highway jobs.
Great if you're doing driveways, trails, yards, small site prep, or farming tasks.
Why Go Small?
Model / Size Class | Operating Weight | Blade Width | Best For |
| Mini Motor Graders (~8–10 ton) | ~8,000–10,000 lbs | ~8–10 ft | Small properties, driveways, and landscape grading |
| Small Motor Graders (~10–14 ton) | ~10,000–14,000 lbs | ~10–12 ft | Light roadwork, site prep, farm/estate grading |
| Compact Construction Graders | ~7–9 ton | ~8–10 ft | Very tight jobs where full-size just won't fit. |

- Easier transport - fits on smaller trailers
- Lower fuel use & operating costs
- Better in tight or residential spaces
- Usually, simpler controls for single operators
