What is the proper way to park a skid steer?

From what I understand so far:

  • Always park on level ground to avoid tipping.
  • Lower the bucket or attachment all the way to the ground.
  • Engage the parking brake and put the joysticks/control levers in neutral.
  • Turn off the engine and remove the key.

Am I missing anything? Are there any additional steps specific to different attachments or terrain types?

That's a solid checklist , I'd just add letting it idle a mintue to cool down, especially after hard work, and making sure hydraulics are fully relieved before hopping out; after years running skid steers, those small habits save a lot of headaches later.

Set the parking brake (if equipped), move the controls to release pressure, and take the key out.
