What Heavy-Duty Degreaser Do You Use?

Hey everyone, looking for recommendations on heavy-duty degreasers. I’ve been using a local product, but it’s a bit pricey, and we don’t always have easy access to it. I don’t mind mixing it with diesel for extra power, but it’s hard to find something effective without needing to rely on high-pressure washing. Any good products you guys have tried for cleaning heavy machinery and parts without making a mess?

hey @bigBucket! I hear you on the price issue—some of these degreasers cost a fortune! I’ve had good luck with Purple Power and Zep Industrial; they cut through grease pretty well without needing a pressure washer. If you don’t mind a little DIY, mixing Simple Green with some diesel can also work wonders for really caked-on grime. What kind of equipment are you cleaning most often—engines, undercarriages, or just general shop messes?

Purple Power's got that 'can't beat it' vibe, but if you're feeling adventurous, mixing in some diesel might just turn you into a degreasing wizard. Just don’t get carried away unless you’re trying to start a cleaning revolution!

Another great option is using a mixture of baking soda and water for a more natural, eco-friendly cleaner. It’s gentle on equipment, but still effective for breaking down grease and grime!

Totally get the love for Purple Power, but honestly, I think Zep Industrial edges it out for really heavy build-up. It clings better and cuts deeper without needing to mix in diesel, plus it's easier on the nose if you're working in a tight space. Anyone else feel the same?

I’ve been meaning to try Zep after hearing all the hype, does it rinse off clean without leaving a film? I’ve mostly stuck with Purple Power too, but open to switching if there's something that works better without a pressure washer. Curious if anyone try these on really baked-on undercarriage gunk?

i’ve used Purple Power for years but now I’m curious about Zep too... does it really tackle thick grime without needing a pressure washer?

Been using Zep Industrial lately and it's been solid - cuts through the gunk on our loaders and backhoes without needing a pressure washer. I still keep a jug of Purple Power around too, but Zep seems to cling a bit better, especially on vertical surfaces. Haven't tried the diesel mix yet, but sounds like a beast combo for the eral nasty jobs
