I'm starting to look at diesel generators in the 6000W range and wanted to see what people here are running. I'm mainly looking for something simple, reliable, and fuel-efficient, preferably an 1800 RPM unit since it will likely run quite a bit.
I've seen quite a few people recommend Kubota diesel units around that range. They seem pretty reliable and fuel efficient, especially the 1800 RPM models. A used light tower generator with a Kubota engine might also be worth checking out.
Finding a solid 6000W diesel is a smart move, especially if you're looking at long run times. Most people in this range swear by a Yanmar or a Kubota engine. They're basically the gold standard for small diesels because parts are everywhere and they're built like tanks.
