I am looking to purchase a used bucket truck, however, the issue that has presented itself is that the truck is both, in good condition and at a reasonable cost.

Has anyone acquired any recently? Any advice on which one should be more cognizant about?

Finding the right balance can be tricky! Check the hydraulic system and maintenance records because they're super important on bucket trucks.

I’d also say to check for rust, especially on the boom and undercarriage, it’s a dealbreaker for me.

Solid advice so far! I’d also take a close look at the wear on the pivot points and listen for any weird noises in the lift mechanism. A truck might look good on the surface, but if the boom’s got issues, repairs can get pricey fast. Anyone here ever had to rebuild a bucket truck’s hydraulic system?
