Hey everyone,

With technology changing so fast in construction, what skills do you think contractors need to stay ahead in 2025? Are traditional trade skills still enough, or should everyone be learning things like BIM, drones, or AI-assisted equipment? How are you personally keeping your skillset up to date? Are there any courses or certifications you’d recommend for someone looking to reskill? Curious to hear what the community thinks about the most valuable skills for future-proofing a construction career.

Traditional trade skills are still needed, but they are not enough anymore. The field is changing too fast, and contractors need to learn the new tech just to keep up.

Skills like BIM (Building Information Modeling) are essential because they fix problems before you ever break ground. And drones are great for fast, accurate site surveys and tracking progress. I'm focusing on free online courses and YouTube tutorials about BIM software right now. It is worth the time investment.

Totally agree! hands-on skills will always matter, but mixing in tech like BIM or drone mapping feels like the new edge if you want to stay competitive.
