Anytime I need to renew my OSHA it always makes me think of crazy stories and near misses.
I've seen a few... from an I-beam dangling off a crane and swinging like a pendulum to a trench collapse where a guy luckily only got 3/4 buried. One company had two morons try to race forklifts only for one of them to drop off the loading dock... totaled a truck and broke his leg.
My closest call personally came as a youngster working on a golf course mowing during the rain. Was slick and I got sideways on a hill, couldn't get traction, and tipped over backwards into a creek. I bailed. The mower was probably ten degrees from tippin all the way over which might've pinned me in two feet of water. Wonder if the next group of golfers would've hit their tee-shots before coming to check on me?
