I'm considering buying a John Deere 770 grader with an unknown year and 11,000 hours showing on the meter. The engine reportedly had a connecting rod failure, but it starts well when hot or cold, with slight blow-by and no unusual noises. Could the hour meter be accurate, and what should I check before buying?
