I'm trying to figure out a transmission issue on my Caterpillar 988A, and I'm honestly stumped at this point. The machine was working perfectly fine. The operator dumped a bucket, backed up normally, then shifted back into forward, and suddenly nothing happened. Last year, the machine still had good pressure at the filter housing, but now this spring, there's almost no pressure at all, and the torque converter shaft is not spinning. At this point, I'm starting to wonder if this is a failed transmission pump?
