hey guys

just wondering how often you guys service your log trailer brakes? I know it depends on load and terrain but is there a general rule you follow?

Trying to avoid overdoing it or worse waiting too long

Hey @Mark, I usually check mine every couple months or around 3,000 miles-whichever comes first. Hauling heavy loads through rough terrain wears 'em faster, so I'd rather be safe than sorry. A quick inspection goes a long way

FMCSA suggests checking brakes every 3,000 miles, but with log trailers I've found monthly inspections catch wear early.

I usually give mine a quick check every month too, especially after heavy hauls.

Caught worn pads early a couple times just doing that.

If the trailer starts pulling unevenly, getting hot hubs, or needing more pedal than usual, I'd inspect it right away instead of waiting for the next scheduled service.

Mud and water exposure, steep terrain, heavy loads, and long downhill runs can wear things out way faster than expected.
