How Does Veritread Work for Heavy Equipment Transport?

I'm planning to move a piece of equipment soon (likely an excavator or maybe a mid-size dozer), and I keep seeing Veritread come up when searching for heavy equipment transport services.

From what I understand, it works like a marketplace where carriers bid on your load, but I'm still a bit unclear on how the full process actually goes in real-world use.

For those who've used Veritread for equipment shipping or heavy haul trucking, I'd really appreciate your input:
  • How fast do you usually get quotes after posting a load?
  • Are the carriers vetted, or do you still need to do your own background checks?
  • Do they handle oversize permits, routing, and logistics, or is that on you?
  • How accurate are the quotes compared to the final cost?
  • Any issues with delays, communication, or equipment condition during delivery?
I'm trying to figure out if it's better to go through Veritread or just contact a local heavy haul company directly.

Just don't want to mess up my first booking when it comes to equipment transport and logistics.

I've used Veritread a couple of times for heavy equipment transport, and it actually works pretty well once you understand the process.
For first-time booking, Veritread is a solid starting point-you just need to double-check the details

Veritread is pretty simple to use. You just post your equipment details (size, weight, pickup and drop location), and then transport companies send you quotes. You can compare prices, check reviews, and choose the one that fits your budget. It saves time because you don’t have to call different haulers one by one. Overall, it’s an easy and practical way to move heavy equipment, especially if you want multiple options quickly.

From what I understand, Veritread works like an online marketplace where you can request transport for heavy equipment and get quotes from different verified carriers. You just enter your equipment details, pickup and delivery locations, and then compare offers. It makes the process faster and more transparent, especially if you want to find reliable transport without calling multiple companies.

Yeah I get what you're saying @gulamgedi, it does save time for sure, but from my experience you still gotta be a bit careful and not just go with the cheapest quote, since not all carriers handle permits, timing, or communication the same, so I usually dobule-check details before locking anything in

I've used Veritread a few times, moving excavators and a mid-size dozer, overall pretty good, just have to know how to work it.
