Hey everyone,

I’ve been learning about forklifts and was wondering, how do they differ from most automobiles in terms of operation, design, and safety features?

For example, do they have different steering mechanisms, braking systems, or power sources? Also, are there any key handling or stability differences that make driving a forklift unique?

Would love to hear insights from those with forklift experience. Thanks in advance!

Great question, Cody! One big difference is that most forklifts have rear-wheel steering, which can feel totally opposite to driving a car. Also, their stability works differently, ever notice how a forklift’s counterweight plays a huge role in keeping it balanced? Anyone here ever had a tough time adjusting to forklift handling at first?

Hey, Forklifts handle way differently than regular cars, especially with rear-wheel steering and the way they distribute weight. Plus, the way they stop is different too, cause some use hydraulic brakes, while others have electronic braking. Anyone else ever had a moment where driving a forklift felt totally different from what you expected?
