With all the talk about AI, automation, and green tech, I’m curious how these advancements are affecting the construction world in 2025. Are companies adopting these technologies quickly, or is the industry more hesitant? How do you think these changes will shape future projects?

Great question! Honestly, it feels like a mix. For some companies, AI and automation can boost their efficiency while some are taking their time. Green tech is gaining traction with sustainability goals. I think this change is setting the stage for faster, smarter, and greener construction.

@Mr.Dj123, I’d say it’s moving forward, but at different speeds depending on the company. Big firms are jumping into AI for project planning and automation for repetitive tasks, but smaller contractors seem a bit more hesitant due to costs. Green tech is huge though, more builders are using sustainable materials and energy-efficient designs. Are you seeing any of these changes in your area?

Yeah, I’ve noticed more companies leaning into automation and AI, especially for project planning and site monitoring.Green tech is catching on fast, especially with stricter regulations pushing for energy-efficient buildings. It’s exciting to see where all this is headed!

Hey @Mr.Dj123, AI-powered project management tools are making a big difference in keeping schedules on track. I’ve also seen companies using 3D printing for smaller structures, which cuts down on waste and speeds up the process. The biggest challenge is getting everyone on board with these new technologies. Some old-school contractors aren’t too keen on changing the way things have always been done.

From what I’ve seen, automation is a game-changer, especially for repetitive tasks like bricklaying and excavation. But the real challenge is training workers to use these new tools effectively. Some companies are all in, but others are holding back because of costs and the learning curve. I think in a few years, tech will be unavoidable in construction.

Sustainability is where I see the biggest push. More projects are incorporating solar panels, smart energy systems, and eco-friendly materials. It’s cool to see the industry evolving, but there’s still a long way to go before green tech becomes the standard.

No doubt tech is shaking things up! AI, automation, and green tech are making projects faster, smarter, and more sustainable, but the real question is, will the old-school crews fully embrace it or keep doing things the "tried and true" way? Either way, construction in 2030 is gonna look way different than today!

Totally agree with everyone here—tech is changing the game, but not everyone’s jumping in at the same speed. AI and automation are making things more efficient, and green tech is picking up fast with all the sustainability pushes. But yeah, convincing the old-school crews to adopt new methods is still a challenge. Excited to see where things go in the next few years!

Yeah, the shift is definitely happening! It’ll be interesting to see how fast the old-school crews adapt!

@Mr.Dj123, great topic! From what I’ve seen, AI and automation are making serious waves in site management and safety. Drones are becoming standard for site monitoring, and AI-driven scheduling tools are keeping projects on track. Green tech is also getting a big push, especially with government incentives for sustainable building materials.

That said, adoption isn’t uniform. Larger firms with big budgets are jumping in, but smaller contractors are hesitant because of the costs and training required. I think once the price of these technologies drops, we’ll see a much wider rollout.

Are you seeing any pushback from traditional crews in your area?

Glad I'm basically out of the industry now. I don't even recognize some of these terms ya'll are throwin around. I figured out how to type and use google - not bad for an old timer like myself. But feel like it's getting too late for this old dog to learn any new tricks.

Haha, @winston_wisdom, I’d say figuring out Google and typing puts you ahead of some folks I know! But hey, with all the tech coming in, maybe it’s less about learning new tricks and more about watching how the industry evolves. What’s the biggest change you’ve seen since your early days in construction?

No doubt, technology is transforming construction! AI, automation, and green tech are making waves, but adoption speeds vary. Excited to see where this all leads!

@winston_wisdom Haha, you’re not alone—tech is moving fast, and it’s definitely a different world than it used to be. But even the old-school ways had their own efficiency and reliability! What do you think was the best part about working in construction before all this tech came in? Would love to hear your perspective!

Yeah, training is a huge factor in whether companies adopt these technologies or not. Some are investing in upskilling their crews, while others are hesitant because of time and cost. I think once more success stories come out about increased efficiency and cost savings, we’ll see a faster shift. Anyone here already working with AI or automation on-site? What’s been your experience so far?

Tech is definitely changing the industry, but it’s interesting to see how some companies are all in while others are holding back. I’m curious of what’s been the biggest game-changer for those already using AI or automation on-site? Is it making a noticeable difference in productivity?

Definitely seeing some cool shifts in the industry! I’d also add that VR and AR are starting to get more traction, especially for training purposes and visualizing projects before breaking ground. It’s kind of like building in a video game, but way more useful for the real world!

Absolutely loving all the insights here! Has anyone had firsthand experience using AR or VR for client presentations or worker training? Curious how it’s holding up in real jobsite conditions. Does it actually speed things up or still feel a bit clunky in the field?
