Have You Ever Recovered a Stuck Machine?

Have you ever had to recover a machine that got seriously stuck on a jobsite? I'm curious what type of equipment it was, what caused it to get stuck, and how you managed to get it out. Was it a quick recovery, or did it turn into an all-day challenge? Did you use another machine, winches, mats, or some other method? I'd love to hear your stories and any lessons learned from the experience.

We had a skid steer sink deeper than expected after a heavy rain, and what looked like a quick pull turned into half a day of recovery. Ever since then, I always check ground conditions first because getting stuck is a lot easier than getting back out.

I've had a similar experience with a mini excavator on soft ground. It looked solid until one track started sinking. We used another machine and a few timber mats to get it out. Definitely taught me that spending a few minutes checking the ground beats spending hours on a recovery.
