Has Technology Made Operators More Productive or More Dependent?

Do you feel like all this new technology is helping operators get more done, or are we starting to rely on it too much?

I think it’s a bit of both, technology can make operators way more productive, but experience still matters when the tech can’t do the thinking for you.

I think technology has made operators more productive overall. Better tools, GPS, and machine monitoring help them work faster and make better decisions. But operators still need experience and good judgment, especially when something goes wrong.

Honestly, I see technology as another tool in the toolbox. Nobody complains about power tools making work easier, so why not machine control and GPS?

Spot on, everyone. I look at it like GPS in a vehicle, it gets you down the right road faster, but it doesn't teach you how to drive defensively or handle a blowout on the highway. Tech definitely supercharges productivity and saves on rework, but when sensors glitch or job-site conditions get weird, that "seat-of-the-pants" operator experience is what actually saves the day. It's a great force multiplier, but it's only as good as the person in the cab.
