Has anyone seen this kind of input shaft gear wear before?

I recently removed the transmission due to excessive input shaft endplay. After tearing it down, the gears and bearings all appear to be in good condition. The only issue I found is wear on the first clutch pack plate, where the input shaft gear appears to have been rubbing or chewing into the component.
