Class 5 vs Class 7 Bucket Trucks-Which Makes More Sense for Small Crews?

Hi, I’m trying to decide between a Class 5 and a Class 7 bucket truck for a small crew. Is the lighter Class 5 usually enough, or do you find the extra capacity of a Class 7 worth the added cost and size? Curious what’s worked best for your day-to-day jobs.

@12ZacharryClark for a small crew, a Class 5 usually does the job just fine and is way easier to maneuver and cheaper to run. Class 7 makes sense if you’re hauling heavier loads or running bigger booms every day, but otherwise it can be overkill

Agreed - Class 5 seems to hit the sweet spot for most small crews, but I'm ucrious where people start to feel limited and wish they'd gone Class 7 instead.
