Can You Over-Compact Soil? When to Stop Compacting?

Hey everyone, quick question, Is it possible to over-compact soil on a job site? How do you know when to stop compacting to avoid damaging the soil structure or causing future problems? Would love to hear your tips or experiences on finding the right balance!

Yep, over-compacting is definitely a thing, especially with clay soils. I usually go by the “bounce” test or a proof roll. A soil compaction meter helps too if you want to be precise.
