My Case 85XT skid steer still has the original heat shield insulation, but it's crumbling apart, and I'm worried about heat damage and possible fire risk near the exhaust. Can I replace it with aftermarket heat shield insulation, or does this machine really need the OEM heat shield because of the exhaust location? Also planning to repair the cracked plastic cover while I have it apart.
