Anyone Using Solar Charging for Dump Trailer Batteries?

Hey folks,

I’ve been thinking about adding a solar charging setup to my dump trailer to keep the battery topped off between jobs. Has anyone here tried using solar panels for this purpose? I’m curious how well they keep up with regular use and whether they’re worth the investment. What wattage panel are you using, and do you run a controller with it? Would love to hear what’s worked (or hasn’t) for you out in the field.

Great question, I’ve actually been curious about this too! I’ve seen a couple guys running small solar setups, but I’m wondering how they hold up after long days and heavy dumps. Do they really keep the battery topped off reliably, or do you still end up charging manually now and then? Would love to hear what panel/controller combos are working best out there.
