Definitely shut off the engine first and relieve any residual system pressure before touching the lines. What model and brand is the paver? That would help narrow down the exact relief valve position.

Since the machine was used on a salt project, wire corrosion is definitely the primary suspect. I'd check the harness pins for any green corrosion and inspect the ground points near the SCR unit, because a bad ground alone can easily throw off both DEF and NOx communication codes at the same time.

Lowering the forks flat and setting the parking brake is absolute rule number one for us. We also make it a habit to tilt the mast slightly forward so the tips are touching the ground completely to prevent any tripping hazards. Simple routine, but keeps everyone safe.

Marketplace is definitely a hit or miss these days. If you're already looking at Ritchie Bros., I'd say go for it. Their auction format is very fair, and the prices on used tools are usually competitive. It's way more reliable than meeting up with strangers, and the detailed listings make a huge...

Sounds like you're getting closer to the root of it. Those proprietary charging valves can be a real headache when you're trying to find the right adapter or fitting. Have you checked with a local Deere dealer to see if they can loan out the correct kit? Sometimes a good hydraulic shop nearby...

Yeah, if you've already swapped the controller and checked the electrics, it's almost gotta be mechanical or hydraulic. A stuck spool in the control valve or a bad solenoid sealing internally would keep that forward clutch pressurized. Let us know what you find when you pull it!

I agree with sulababa, that definitely sounds like a sticking directional control valve spool or a bad solenoid. On an older crane that's been sitting, it doesn't take much debris or varnished oil to cause a spool to hang up. I'd definitely check whether the valve is actually moving when someone...

Our best purchase was a Cat 320 excavator we got last year, and it's been running strong ever since. For anyone looking to buy through Boom & Bucket, here are my top rules for a smooth experience: First, spend time analyzing their inspection reports. They are incredibly detailed, and everything...

Ticking near the hydraulic pump on a Komatsu can come from a few different places. Since you've already ruled out valve lash and injectors, I'd focus on the charge pump next - a worn charge pump often makes a rhythmic ticking that gets louder under load. Also worth inspecting the suction line...

I haven't had to file a claim myself yet, but post-sale coverage is definitely something I pay attention to when buying equipment online. A good inspection and accurate listing honestly matter more to me than promises after the sale. From what I've seen, IronPlanet has a pretty solid reputation...

I've been browsing Boom & Bucket for a while now too, and I've got to say it's actually pretty solid if you keep an eye on it regularly. The listings feel more "real" compared to a lot of other marketplaces, and every now and then you can spot some genuinely good deals if you're quick. What I...

Had something similar on an L180 a while back. Machine felt fine cold, then got lazy once the oil warmed up. Turned out the accumulator charge was way lower than spec. Definitely worth checking before tearing deeper into the hydraulics.

I think both options have their place depending on what you're looking for. Auctions can sometimes give you a better deal, but they also come with more uncertainty, especially if you can't inspect properly. From what I've seen, Boom & Bucket seems more transparent with inspections and listings...

I've looked into Boom & Bucket recently and from what I've seen, they do a solid job helping with shipping or at least connecting you with reliable transport partners. The process seems pretty smooth compared to other platforms, and their support team is quite helpful when it comes to logistics...

Great overview of the current auction landscape! In my experience, each of these has its own strengths. Ritchie Bros. and IronPlanet are definitely industry giants for a reason, but I've been seeing a lot of positive movement with Boom and Bucket lately for their transparency. Mascus is also a...

From my experience using Boom and Bucket, detailed listings actually make a big difference when deciding how to bid. When the equipment description, condition notes, and photos are clear, it reduces a lot of guesswork and saves time. I still like to double-check important details myself, but...

That factory-installed HVAC cab is a massive upgrade! For anyone who's spent a hot summer or a freezing winter moving dirt, you know comfort isn't just for show-it keeps you working longer. It's great to see John Deere finally making the cab standard for the 1 Series. The integrated hydraulics...

I've been in this line of work a long time, and when a transmission starts acting up once it gets hot, it usually means it's on its way out. I wouldn't keep running it like that - not worth the risk. A rebuild sounds good on paper, but without experience it can turn into a costly headache...

I've actually had a really good experience with Boom & Bucket. What stood out to me was how transparent everything felt the inspection reports were detailed and the photos matched the actual condition pretty closely when the machine arrived. Pricing wasn't always the absolute cheapest compared...

I've seen this kind of issue before where everything else checks out but the boom stays slow. If the cylinders and pilot pressure are good, I'd start looking at the main control valve or possible restriction in the lines. Had one do something similar and it ended up being a valve issue starting...
