Did anyone else notice that the prices of backhoe loaders have gone up once again this month?

Yeah, clean backhoes are getting pricey fast 😅 One thing that helps is checking auction listings weekly and jumping on units with solid maintenance records before dealers scoop them up.

How do you maintain proper temperature control for asphalt when using a paver?

Keeping the trucks moving consistently really does make a huge difference. One small tip that helped us was avoiding long paver stops whenever possible . . .even a few extra minutes sitting can cool the mix faster than people expect.

What could cause jerking and whining on a Caterpillar 330C with air bubbles and repeated return filter clog warnings?

Hey, Sounds a lot like it’s sucking air somewhere, check the suction side (hoses, clamps, fittings, even the tank pickup tube) on that Caterpillar 330C excavator. Air + restriction can cause the whining, jerky movement, and keep tripping that return filter warning.

I'm with you all-daily checks are essential, but having a certified third-party inspector gives you that extra layer of security. Curious though, for those who do bring in outside inspectors, do you also have them review the crane's maintenance logs, or is it strictly a physical inspection?

Being a huge GMC fan, I’m really excited about this square-body return! It’s got that rugged, no-nonsense look that I love, but with all the modern touches that make it a solid upgrade. I'm wondering about the engine options too if they’ll live up to the old-school power that we’re used to!

Yeah, for a long time, John Deere and Hitachi had a partnership where Hitachi built a lot of Deere’s excavators, especially the bigger ones. But a couple of years ago, they split, and now Deere makes their own. Still some similarities, but they’re doing their own thing now!
