How Do You Minimize Equipment Damage During Transportation?

What are your go-to methods for preventing heavy equipment from getting damaged during transportation? Do you focus more on proper tie-downs and blocking, or are there other things you always check before the machine leaves the jobsite? I’d be interested to hear what loading and hauling practices have worked best for others.

For me, proper tie-downs are the biggest thing, but I’d also make sure the machine is centered and secured before hitting the road. A quick walk-around before and after loading can save you from a lot of unnecessary damage.
