Any pros here have a simple trick for spinning a backhoe out of a ditch? I need to reposition the back end, but the ground is too soft to just drive it. How do you guys use the boom to pivot without sliding deeper?

Drop the bucket behind you, curl it into the ground, and use it to shove the machine while gently feathering the drive.

If the ground is really soft, drop the stabilizers first to take some weight off the rear tires. Then set the bucket on firm ground to the side, curl it in and slowly boom in while lifting slightly to pivot the machine. Small controlled movements work best so you do not sink deeper.

Keep your cast just past the edge of the ditch, then swing the bait naturally back across the drop with the current or retrieve-most bites come right where the shallow meets the deeper cut, so slow down and stay tight to that line.

Aquick tip for swinging off a ditch line is to take it slow and keep smooth, controlled movements on the controls. Make sure your machine is on stable ground and always watch your blind spots. Good positioning before the swing can prevent unnecessary corrections.
