Why does my engine shut down with a 2-long, 6-short glow plug code?

My machine flashes a 2-long, 6-short glow plug code and shuts down when cold. After a few starting attempts, it runs normally. The problem comes back every morning. Any ideas?

Since it runs normally after a few attempts, it sounds like something in the cold-start system isn't working properly.

check the glow plugs, relay, and battery first.

I'd start there too. If it only acts up on cold mornings, the battery and glow plug relay are definitely high on my suspect list.
