Hi,

Who actually makes Hydra Mac skid steers? I don’t see them around much anymore. Are they still in production, or did another company take over? Would love to hear from anyone who still has them.

Hey @Grab_a_Buck,

Hydra-Mac skid steers were originally made by a company called Hydra-Mac, which was later acquired by Gehl. They aren't as common now, but some older models are still in use. They were known for their heavy-duty design, especially on tough jobsites. I’m not sure if they’re still in production under the Gehl name, but I’d imagine parts are still available for the older machines. Anyone still using one, or have you switched to another brand?

i’ve seen a few old Hydra-Macs still kicking around it built like tanks

Would be cool to know if anyonestill running one today

They were known for making rugged, earlier-generation skid steer loaders. Am I right that they are no longer in production under that company name? Many of the older models, like the Hydra-Mac 8c, are still around and often restored by enthusiasts and farm equipment owners.
