Hey everyone,

I’ve been learning more about forklift operations and safety, and I wanted to ask—what are the key safety precautions that apply when operating a forklift? I know things like wearing a seatbelt and proper load handling are important, but are there specific OSHA rules or best practices that operators should always follow?

Would love to hear insights from experienced forklift operators or safety experts!

Thanks in advance!

Yep, seatbelts and load handling are big ones, but don’t forget about checking your surroundings, keeping speeds in check, and never lifting people on the forks (unless you enjoy OSHA fines 😂). Also, daily inspections are key, nobody wants to find out their brakes don’t work the hard way!

For sure daily inspections, keeping a clear line of sight, and knowing your load limits are musts. And yeah, lifting people on forks is a quick way to get on OSHA’s bad side! 😂
