Which Backhoes Have a PTO?

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for a backhoe with a PTO (power take-off) for running attachments, but I’ve noticed not all models have this feature. Which backhoes come with a PTO, and are there specific brands or models known for having it?

If anyone has experience using a PTO on a backhoe, I’d love to hear how well it works and what kind of attachments you’ve run with it!

Not all backhoes come with a PTO, but some tractor-loader backhoes (TLBs), especially those based on agricultural tractors, do. You might want to check out models from John Deere and Kubota, some of their backhoes built on tractor platforms have PTOs. If you're planning to run something like a post-hole digger or a PTO-driven pump, a tractor-based setup might be your best bet! What kind of attachments are you looking to use?

New here, but I’ve been wondering about this too. I’ve seen some Kubota models with PTOs, but they seem more common on tractor-loader backhoes rather than construction-style backhoes. @Jonathan Gillispe, what kind of attachments are you planning to run?

Good question! PTOs definitely seem more common on the tractor-style backhoes. I’ve been wondering the same lately, especially for running augers and maybe even a small chipper. @Jonathan Gillispe, are you looking more for farming use or construction work? That might help narrow down the best fit.
