What is the typical weight of a backhoe.

If a newbie like me has a truck rated for a 20,000 lb tow, is a standard backhoe (like a Cat 420 or JD 310) generally small enough for me to legally and safely haul myself, or am I better off looking at smaller machines to avoid an immediate hauling nightmare?

The backhoe is the most versatile machine. For me, Cat wins every time.

James visit Ritchie Bros. Auctions and they have a “spec” section where u can type in the machine make and model and the entire spec for that machine will appear. This way you get the actual “correct” spec. Hope this helps!
