What features should you look for when buying or renting an off-highway truck for your construction project?

When purchasing or leasing an offroad dump truck, I consider the payload, longevity and ease in servicing. If it can’t carry a considerable weight without breaking down, then it is useless You guys, what features do you pay attention to?

If you're renting, just that it has the specs to do the job - maintenance is someone else's problem.

If you're buying get something reliable and from a good local dealer with solid support. These aren't usually the types of trucks people have buckups for given the price, so down time is a real killer.

Totally agree with you guys, payload capacity, frame strength, and engine durability are key, but don't overlook braking systems and tire type either, especially if you're working on steep or rough terrain. A good retarder and easy-access service points can save you headaches down the line.
