I'm looking into equipment operator jobs and keep hearing that mining pays better than regular construction. For those who've actually run backhoes in mines, what does the pay really look like?
Is it hourly or salaried? Does experience, location, or the type of mine make a big difference? Also curious how the hours and rotations compare to normal site work.
Just trying to get a realistic picture before going down that path. Appreciate any insight from people in the industry.
