How much are skid steers?

Hey Mark!
Prices vary a lot depending on size, brand, and features and new skid steers typically range from $30K to $80K+, while used ones can go for $15K to $30K+ depending on hours and condition. If you need high-flow hydraulics, enclosed cab, or other extras, expect to pay more. Are you looking for something specific, or just trying to get a general idea?

Thanks for the info, @LawnEnthusiast! I’m leaning toward a used one, maybe in the $20K–$30K range, but I want to make sure I get a good deal without ending up with a machine that needs a ton of repairs. Any tips on what to look for when buying used? Are certain brands more reliable for long-term use?

@Mark Michael, if you're looking at used skid steers, definitely check the hours on the machine
, anything over 2,500 hours might mean more maintenance soon. Also, inspect the hydraulic system for leaks and test the controls to make sure everything responds smoothly. Brands like Bobcat and CAT tend to hold up well over time, but it also depends on how the previous owner maintained it. Are you buying from a dealer or a private seller?
