Hey everyone, I'm getting ready to move some used equipment and wanted to ask, what are your go-to inspection and prep tips before shipping?

Are there any common issues you've run into that are easy to overlook but cause headaches during transport?

Would love to hear real-world advice on making sure everything arrives safe and damage-free!

Take lots of photos before shipping. It saves headaches if anything gets questioned. Small stuff like covers, straps, and blocking heavy parts properly can make a huge difference.

Cleaning it up and documenting everything with photos really helps, too. It makes the whole process smoother and avoids surprises on delivery.

First, take a ton of photos and videos before loading. Not just the outside, but also hours, attachments, tracks/tires, cylinders, etc. It helps big time if there are any damage claims later.

Check for leaks and loose parts. Even small hydraulic leaks or dangling hoses can turn into a mess during transport. I've also seen mirrors, steps, exhaust stacks, and beacons get damaged because they weren't secured or removed.

Battery disconnect is another easy one to forget. Same with locking the cab, securing doors/windows, and making sure parking brakes or travel locks are actually working. If it rolls or moves unexpectedly on the trailer, that's when problems start.
