How High Is Too High in Choosing the Right Bucket Truck Height for Your Jobs?

hey all, I’m trying to figure out how to choose the right bucket truck height for different types of jobs. At what point does a taller bucket truck become unnecessary or harder to use on a worksite? Curious how others decide what height works best for their typical projects.

Hey, honestly, higher isn't always better,. once you get past what your job actually needs, taller bucket trucks usually mean more weight, less stability, tighter maneuvering, and higher cost. Most crews I've seen stick around 40-60 ft for general work since it covers a lot without sacrificing control, and only go taller when the jbo really calls for it.
