Hey everyone, I've been noticing equipment theft is becoming a bigger issue on job sites lately. I'm curious how other contractors and project managers are handling site security. Are there particular strategies, tools, or tech solutions that have worked well for you? Do you rely more on surveillance, fencing, or GPS tracking for heavy equipment? I'd love to hear real-world tips and experiences to help keep equipment safe.

We started using GPS trackers and locking fuel shutoffs after a skid steer went missing overnight, and it’s made a big difference since.

Preventing equipment theft involves using secure storage, limiting access to authorized people, and tracking assets with proper monitoring systems. Regular checks and staff awareness alos help reduce risks and keep equipment safe.

Preventing equipment theft requires a combination of smart planning, physical security, and consistent monitoring. We secure all equipment with high-quality locks, controlled access points, and proper storage when not in use. Surveillance cameras and lighting are installed in key areas to discourage unauthorized activity. We also maintain detailed inventory records, use identification tags, and train staff to follow strict check-in and check-out procedures. Regular inspections and clear responsibility among team members help ensure that any issue is quickly noticed and addressed

This is such a real issue right now. We've had the best luck with layering it - solid fencing, bright motion lights, and GPS on anything that can roll away. Cameras help, but honestly the geofence alerts have been the biggest game changer for us. Curious if anyone's tried remote monitoring services instead of just self-managed cameras?

Preventing equipment theft is a big concern for many owners. Using GPS tracking, proper site security, and secure storage after working hours can make a huge difference. Regular monitoring and clear documentation also help reduce risks.
