What's your experience been like with Ritchie Bros' after-sales service?

Do they offer much support once the equipment is sold, or is it pretty much buyer-beware? Any tips for first-time buyers would also be appreciated.

From my experience it depends on the channel you buy through. For standard Ritchie Bros auctions it is mostly buyer responsibility after the sale, so inspections and due diligence matter a lot. That said their support teams are usually responsive with documents, logistics, and export help.

If you buy through IronPlanet or Marketplace E there tends to be a bit more structure around condition reports and post sale questions. For first time buyers I would recommend reading the inspection reports carefully, asking questions before bidding, and budgeting for transport and minor fixes right away.

In my experience, Ritchie Bros. is pretty transparent with their 'IronClad Assurance' on certain items, which helps with peace of mind. However, after-sales support isn't really their main thing since they are an auction house. It's always a good idea to inspect the equipment in person or hire a third-paryt inspector before the hammer falls. Better safe than sorry

I've bought from Ritchie Bros a few times now and generally had a good run. Their platform is super easy to navigate compared to others. Honestly, the after sales support depends a lot on the specific location and the auction type, but they are professional. They make the heavy equipment buying process feel a lot less stressful for sure. For a first-timer, I'd say just do your homework on the inspection reports before bidding. It helps a lot. Ritchie Bros is definitely one of the more reliable names out there.

My experience with Ritchie Bros' after-sales service has been professional and responsive. Clear communication, helpful support staff, and timely resolution made post-purchase issues manageable and overall ownership smoother for buyers.
