Hey everyone, I’m trying to get a clear understanding of DOT tie-down rules for flatbed trailers. How many straps or chains are actually required for different types of loads, and are there specific angles or tension standards to keep in mind? Any tips or common mistakes to avoid when securing heavy equipment would be super helpful!

Quick rule of thumb.. minimum 4 tie-downs on heavy equipment, each rated for the load, plus secure anything that can move, DOT loves redundancy.
