Hey everyone,

Thinking about going with an open floor plan for a new build and curious what others think. What are the pros and cons you’ve noticed, especially around noise, heating/cooling, and resale value? Would love to hear from anyone who’s lived with one long-term!

Hey, open floor plans definitely make a space feel bigger and great for entertaining, but yeah—noise travels fast and heating/cooling can get tricky. Totally depends on your lifestyle!

We went open floor plan in our last build and loved the airy feel, but I’ll admit it’s not ideal when someone’s watching TV and someone else is trying to work, worth thinking about how you’ll actually use the space day-to-day.

Totally agree with the points here! Open floor plans look amazing and feel super spacious, but you definitely trade off a bit of privacy and sound control. If you’ve got a busy household, it can get a little chaotic! Still, for entertaining and keeping an eye on everything, it’s hard to beat.

Totally with you all about open floor plans are great for light and flow, but yeah, once the TV’s on and kids are running around, it’s not exactly peaceful. Depends if you value openness or quiet more day-to-day!
